Dual-level 4-bank micro Multi Leaf Collimator
General
AccuLeaf, a micro Multi Leaf Collimator (mMLC), is unique in having four sets of leaves, instead of the conventional two. This patented configuration allows for more precise target conformity for IMRT (Intensity Modulated RadioTherapy) and IMAT (Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy) while offering a much faster response time needed for dynamic, image-guided treatments.
- 96 leaves in 4 banks
- With AccuLeaf, users of existing LINACs can join the elite group of IMRT, IMAT & SRS users
- Compatible with all Varian, Elekta & Siemens LINACs
- Operated with Initia's AccuSoft Treatment Planning Software as well as 3rd party TPS
- Cross-Leaves Architecture Advantages
Cross-Leaves Architecture Advantages
- Fast Tracking - for parallel leaves, aperture motion is determined by the time required to cover/uncover target edges parallel to leaf motion and by leaf speed. Since there aren't any such target edges for cross leaf - aperture formation, time is consequently several times faster than that of a parallel leaf collimator. In addition, cross leaves smaller weight and lower friction enable higher leaf speed and reliability then conventional mMLCs.
- Improved Conformity - Cross leaf conforms better to complicated targets (e.g., doubly concave) and eliminates collimator rotation. Conformity is significantly improved even for a regular shape.
